- September 27th, 1997 - Cryptic Writings hits Gold (500,000 copies) in the USA.
- August 16th, 1997 - Dave Mustaine interview on MTV and M2 to appear on August 20th.
- Correction: The interview will air September 10th.
- August 7th, 1997 - Cryptic Writing is reviewed in Rolling Stone magazine and receives
3.5 stars (out of five).
- Also, a press release announcing The Cryptic Writings of Megadeth comic book
series. It has a quaterly schedule and the first issue has three stories: Skull
Beneath The Skin, Rattlehead and Looking Down The Cross. The comics should arrive in
stores September 18th.
- July 13th, 1997 - Megadeth's appearance on Rockline on the 21st will be carried by Audionet. The show starts at 8:30 PST. Also, by the
way, Megadeth won the ESPN X-games competition with 41% of the popular vote. How cool is
that?
- June 19th, 1997 - The Misfits will open for Megadeth for the 1st half of the North
American tour. Also, the Audionet Megadeth concert is still archived. Check it out on the
